A Bar is a perfect place to spend a great evening with friends accompanied with some great food and cocktails. Good bar music can add a lot of thrill to your evening. Music has the power to offer relaxation and do away with most of your tensions. Bar music not only adds a lot of entertainment to your evening, but also helps you feel good after a long and hectic schedule during the day.

Nowadays, many bars follow a particular theme. The type of music played in the bars depends upon the theme of the bar. The bar music thereby reflects the mood and the theme of the bar. In the bars, evenings are hosted by live bands and DJs to keep the guests entertained all the time.

Earlier, live music was very popular among the masses. Following the trend, live bar music was organized by most of the bars during the weekends. Weekends offer a packed time for most of the reputed bars and live shows added a lot of charm to the weekend evenings. Live rock bands were the most happening bar music option for the people. Jazz, Cajun and folk were other popular options for bar music. Themed bars hired a band that suited the theme of their bar. However, these days bar music is more of DJ music. People prefer dancing to their tunes compared to listening to live bands. DJs usually spin up the latest numbers and offer some great remixes of the same. They also play numbers on request that keep the guests involved all the time. A great drink with some loud music keeps you charged throughout the evening!

Research shows that people tend to drink more if a bar has music versus a bar that does not have any music. Well, the bar owners are aware of this fact, so you will find most of the bars with a live band or maybe a good DJ. Another research shows that there is a connection between loud bar music and drinking. It shows that the louder the bar music is, the more you tend to drink. A French study shows that turning up the volume of the bar music increased the consumption of alcohol among the people and they emptied the glasses much faster! Researchers offer an explanation for the same saying that loud bar music might be a source of arousal. Loud music with some great drinks offer a tempting combination and people tend to consume more alcohol. Another explanation says that lack of social interaction while loud music is playing might be a cause of increased alcohol consumption. People talk less, as they are unable to hear each other and thereby consume more drinks with loud bar music!

An assorted menu of great food and drinks coupled with some foot tapping bar music can be a great stress buster for most of us. All the more, if you have some good company, any kind of bar music can be a great source of entertainment!
